The Prince of Wales check was designed by the British king Edward VII when he was Prince of Wales and later popularised by his well-dressed grandson the Duke of Windsor when he in turn was Prince of Wales. The Prince of Wales check is a great favourite among suave British men and is redolent of the fine tailoring of London's Savile Row.
